Our Residents are calling on Volunteers to assist them with growing 1000 Spekboom plants.

This Community Strengthening Programme invites Schools, Corporates and Individuals to  join in our #spekkies4cheshire campaign.

We will teach you how to grow your own Spekboom, nurture it and grow another towards the sustainability of the Turfhall Cheshire Home.

We aim to plant a spekboom hedge along our boundary wall and continue to propagate new plants. Ensuring our Residents will be able to continue to sell Spekboom at Markets and Retail Outlets to ensure we contribute towards the fight against climate change as well as receiving much needed funds for the 24 Hour Specialised Care at Turfhall Cheshire Home.

Did You Know:

  • The Spekboom, also known as Elephant’s Food, fights climate change by absorbing carbon dioxide, improving the quality of the air we breathe
  • It is also edible and nutritious
  • It is water-wise, adapts to its environment and can live up to 200 years.

Please contact Helen Campbell on 071-6056708 or email marketing.turfhall@gmail.com if you would like to join in our #spekkies4cheshire campaign or make a donation towards this programme.
